About Us

RootedIn.us exists because of my dad.

He was the one who made me see it clearly. Our family is everywhere now — different cities, different countries, different lives. The stories that used to live in one kitchen, around one holiday table, in one person’s memory, scatter. And if nobody gathers them, they do not fade slowly. They vanish. We will be lost forever.

That thought would not leave me. So I started building our family tree. Not as a hobby. As a way to refuse disappearing. To put names next to names, faces next to faces, and make the connection matter again — because having that connection, and treating it as important, is important.

What grew out of that is RootedIn.us. It is the tool I wished our family already had: a living map of who we are, who we came from, and who we still belong to. You can see the whole family at once. You can add people in a conversation. You can invite the relatives who live three time zones away and still sit at the same tree.

It is amazing what happens when a family can finally see itself. We are not just collecting dates. We are keeping people. We are making sure the next generation does not have to guess who they are.
